Sometimes a mom doesn’t pick up on the subtle cues. She needs her toddler to really spell it out for her. Or, in the case of a toddler that doesn’t yet spell, to demonstrate exactly what it is that he needs. Very explicitly.

As in: To stop playing, pull a pillow on the floor, and lie down with eyes closed to show that, yes, it is time to go up to bed.

When put that way, even an exhausted mom can get the message.
